Miears, Horace E. Horace Edwin Miears was born October 8, 1936, in Lewisville, Arkansas, to parents, Horace Leonard Miears and Daphne (Greene) Miears, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his spouse, Bobbie (Kay) Miears; three children: daughter and sons-in- law, Lisa and Danny Barnett of HallsviIIe, Texas, Kelly and Dee McCorkle of White Oak, Texas, and son, Michael Edwin Miears of White Oak, Texas; four grandchildren, Tina Pannell, Michael Benjamin Miears, Chelsea Miears and Jesse McCorkle; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Pannell and Taylor Pannell. He is also survived by two siblings: a brother, Haskell R. Miears of Tuscola, Texas, and a sister, Quincy (Miears) Borders of Center, Texas. His extended family includes several in-laws, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. He served in the U.S. Air Force, was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Dubach, Louisiana. He lived in White Oak, Texas, more than 30 years and was employed by Murphy Oil. Horace and Bobbie had their 51st wedding anniversary August 15, 2006. He died at his home Friday evening, November 3, 2006, in White Oak, Texas. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2006, in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with the Rev. G.A. Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. today, November 5, 2006, at the funeral home.
