Milton, Vernon Gray Funeral services for Vernon Gray Milton will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, with the Reverend Jerry Turner of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Danville Cemetery of Kilgore. Vernon Gray Milton was born April 17, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and he passed away in his sleep during the night of January 11, 2007. He was a jolly person and always had a smile and handshake for everyone he met during his lifetime. Friendships were easily made and cherished throughout his life. He was a person who worried about everyone's happiness in life and always put himself second. Mr. Milton graduated from Reagan High School in Austin and Austin Community College. He attended the University of Texas. Mr. Milton also served in the U.S. Navy after finishing his schooling. He is survived by his parents, Vernon R. Milton and Leona Tucker Milton of Longview; one sister, Linda Milton Martin of Dallas; one brother, Richard Mark Milton of Longview; one nephew, Michael G. Martin and his wife, Allisyn Paino Martin of Austin; one niece, Michelle Martin Grether and husband, Todd Grether of Dallas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
