McClain, Betty Opal Services for Betty Opal Croft McClain, 75, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, with Brother Joe Hancock of Hallsville Church of Christ officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. McClain passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2007. Mrs. McClain was born April 19, 1932, in Hallsville, to Marvin L. Croft and Vesta Croft Butler, who preceded her in death. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Hallsville High School and attended Kilgore Junior College. She worked at First National Bank before marrying Oliver "Mack" McClain on June 24, 1955. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. The McClains loved hunting and fishing and spending time with their family. Mrs. McClain will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Oliver "Mack" McClain of Longview; three children, Suzanne and Jack Taylor of Bastrop, Jim and Kristi McClain of Minden, La., and Deanne and Wayne Gibson of Hallsville; one brother, Stanley Croft of Lead Hill, Ark.; one sister, Janet Wooten of Linden; 11 grandchildren, Cheri Fox of Austin, Mickey Mehrens of Austin, Misti Scudday of Kilgore, Kimber Roten of Minden, La., Danielle McTyre of Longview, Kalen McClain of Minden, La., Sheila Wright of Greenwood, La., Roy Taylor of Bastrop, Jason Taylor of Austin, Claudette Taylor of Clearwater, Fla. and Eleanor Davis of Albia, Iowa; 19 great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, July 5, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
