Metcalf, Irline Lowry PINE BLUFF - Irline Lowry Metcalf, 92, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, formerly of Longview, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Trinity Village Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was born February 7, 1915, in Weatherford, a daughter of Irl Lowry and Ethyl Vance Lowry. Mrs. Metcalf was reared and educated in Weatherford, graduating from Weatherford High School. After high school, she trained at Harmon Military Hospital in Longview to be a dental assistant and, upon graduation, worked for Dr. J.J. Goodwin in Longview. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Longview before moving to Arkansas. Mrs. Metcalf worked in sales for Sears in Natchez, Mississippi for many years. Mrs. Metcalf later owned and operated Purse-Nal Touch in Longview. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Ann Graves; three brothers, Wayne Lowry, James Lowry and Marion Lowry; and one sister, Jo Ann Hill. Survivors include her husband, Ike Henry Metcalf, whom she married on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948, in Longview; two sons, Jimmie Irl Graves and his wife, Dixie of Seabrook, and Richard L. Metcalf of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three grandchildren, David Gregory Graves, John Richard Graves and Marlie Graves Collini; and nine great-grandchildren, Chelsea Granero, Christopher Collini, Nicolas Collini, Amanda Graves, Lauren Graves, John Graves Jr., Sarah Graves, Matthew Graves and Abbey Graves. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, August 17, 2007, at the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with the Reverend David Moseley officiating. Burial will be private.
