Morris, Mildred "Polly" WEATHERFORD - Mildred "Polly" Morris, 89, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007, in Fort Worth. Polly was born March 13, 1918, in Longview, Texas, daughter of the late Oscar and Ola Mae Fisher Childers. Polly had many talents, such as during World War II, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" and was a great baker and cook. Polly regularly took homemade cinnamon rolls to the First Baptist Church, where she was an active and dedicated member. Although Polly had no children of her own, she brought joy to many throughout her life. After many years of faithful service, she retired from Southwestern Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. Polly is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles Morris of Weatherford; sister, Mary House of Longview; niece, Jennifer House of Duncanville; niece, Melanie Story and children, Drew, Aimee, Preston and Ian of White Oak; nephew, Jeff House and wife, Lisa and children, Regan and Dylan of San Antonio; niece, Sandra Cochran and daughter, Angela Gunn of Longview; niece, Olivia Reavis and husband, Ira of Sabinal; and nephew, Earnest Childers and family of Azle. She is also survived by a host of loving family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today, August 13, 2007, at First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church Street, Weatherford. Private committal services will be held in Longview.
