Middleton, Lorene Brumley KILGORE - Graveside services for Lorene Brumley Middleton will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. On October 30, 2007, Lorene Brumley Middleton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, went to her heavenly home to be with her Savior as well as join her husband, Tom; parents; daughter, Marcia; and grandson, Rusty, who preceded her in death. Lorene, who was born in 1922, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, moved to Kilgore when she was eight. After graduating from Kilgore High School and Kilgore Junior College, she married Tom Middleton Jr. Together, they raised their four children, Marcia, Merry, Mark and Mickey. She then attended East Texas State University and received her bachelor's and master's degrees, with a library science certification. Lorene then served as the Kilgore Junior College librarian for 23 years and retired in 1985. Lorene was involved in many civic organizations, including the Texas Epsilon Delta chapter of Phi Sigma Alpha, where she served as the vice president and was elected as the "Sweetheart of 1988." She was also a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of The Texas Library Association of University Women and the Sabine Parent Teachers Association, where she served as President. She is survived by her daughter, Merry and Mike Moores of Henderson; son, Mark and Cindy Middleton of Conroe; son, Mickey and Cindi of Lake Charles, La.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other family members and lifelong friends.
