He is also survived by brothers, Homer Murdock Jr. and wife, Barbara, and children, Lee and DeeDee; and Robert “Bob” Murdock and wife, Sandy, and children, Sheri, Dena and Scott; and also Robert “Robbie” who was awaiting him in heaven. Born in Lexington, Virginia, Albert spent most of his early life growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. Upon moving to Longview, Texas, he went to work for a true friend and special employer, Dayton Beasley at Cloud’s Food Service, where he worked until his health forced him into an early retirement a couple of years ago. He was called by God into the ministry in 1972 and was a faithful servant of God sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ whenever a door opened, whether at a church, pastoring or supplying, a retirement facility, nursing home, or just in daily life on the job or with his family and friends. He was very passionate about his Lord, his family, friends and his church. He could get really excited when telling people about the love of God and all that He had done for him. He was a very special man; he enjoyed life and loved people, and they loved and cared for him. That has been so evident in the outpouring of prayers and love for him and family in these past few months and days. For that we are so thankful and blessed. We would love for you to join us in celebration of Albert’s life at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Judson, with Bro. Jim Crump officiating. Services are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, October 1, 2014, at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.
