Nichols Jr., Hollis Funeral services for Hollis Nichols Jr., 76, of Lakeport ,will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport, with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Kilgore, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Nichols passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, in Longview. He was born February 13, 1931, in Laneville, Texas, to Hollis Nichols Sr. and Elsie Moore Nichols. He had lived in Longview for the past 47 years, moving here from Kilgore. He owned and operated an J&J Paint and Body Shop and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nichols of Lakeport; and children, David Nichols and wife, Donna of Lake Cherokee, Kathy Stewart and husband, Larry of Longview, Gary Nichols and wife, Cherie of Kilgore, and Scott Nichols and wife, Sandy of Longview. He is also survived by six grandsons who will serve as pallbearers, Eric Nichols, Jason Ratcliff, Allen Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Gary Nichols Jr. and Brian Porter. Honorary pallbearer will be grandson, Ethan Nichols; one granddaughter, Tonya Porter; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae LaBaum and husband, Erwin of Longview, and Shirley Steelman and husband, Troy of Kilgore; brother, Bobby Nichols and wife, Lujean of Lake Cherokee; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends. The family wishes to thank hospice for all they did during Mr. Nichols's illness. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at Trinity Baptist Church, 5041 Estes Pkwy., Longview, TX 75603.
