O'Flaherty, John E. "Doc" John E. "Doc" O'Flaherty, 81, of Longview, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at a Longview hospital. He was born on January 1, 1925, in Topeka, Kansas. John entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and retired with 26 years of faithful service. He served in Europe and was involved in the World War II conflict. Following his service in the Navy, John was employed at Crook Electric. John's wife, June, preceded him in death on January 2, 2006. Also preceding him in death were his parents, John and Mary O'Flaherty; son, John O'Flaherty Jr.; and son-in-law, Leigh Wells. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Pat Parker and husband, Jack, and Deborah Wells; daughter-in-law, Suzette O'Flaherty; grandchildren, John E. O'Flaherty III, Elizabeth O'Flaherty, Robert Parker and Rodriquez O'Flaherty; great-grandchildren, Amber and Lauren Parker. There is no scheduled visitation. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007, in the mausoleum at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
