HOUSTON -- Jackie Owens entered into eternal rest December 19, 
2006, after an extended stay in the hospital. Born October 15, 
1937, in Oil City, Louisiana, Jackie was a beautiful, brilliant, 
and kind person who enjoyed spending time with her family and 
friends. She loved cooking, reading, and crafts. Jackie was 
preceded in death by her husband, Ray Owens Sr.; and her brother, 
Eugene Johnson. She is survived by her four sons, Steve Oliver 
Boyter Jr., Robert Paul Boyter Sr. and wife, Sarah, Richard 
Eugene Boyter Sr. and wife, Kim, and Michael Lynn Boyter and 
wife, Linda; also by her grandchildren, Brian Boyter, Jason 
Boyter, Michael Paul Boyter, Justin Boyter, Dustin Boyter, Robert 
Paul Boyter Jr., Richard Eugene Boyter Jr., Melinda Burns, Eric 
Burns, Derek Hudson, Lilly Hudson, and Cloie Hudson. A memorial 
service celebrating her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 
23, 2006, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview.
