Born March 5, 1980, in Santa Barbara, Calif., he was a manager for Cheddar's restaurant in Longview and attended Fellowship Bible Church. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 8/31/2006 Palie, Benjamin Matthew Benjamin Matthew Palie was born March 5, 1980, in Santa Barbara, California, and he grew up in Canton, Massachusetts. Benjamin is survived by his loving parents, Mark Palie of Tucson, Arizona, and Cynthia McGowan of Titusville, Florida. Ben is also survived by his stepfather, Brian McGowan of Titusville, Florida. He will be extremely missed by his brother, Eric Palie, and sister-in-law, Kimberly Palie, of Show Low, Arizona; and his sister, Sarah Pressley, and brother-in-law, Patrick Pressley, of Littleton, Colorado. Ben's loving relationship with his girlfriend, Jessica Newman of Longview, will live on as a positive influence in her life. Ben had resided in Longview since March 2006, and he was employed by Cheddar's Restaurant as a manager. He lived and worked in Dallas for a short time before moving to Longview, and he had lived in Tallahassee, Florida, from 1999-2005. Ben attended Tallahassee Community College for a short time and worked as a manager at Tia's Tex Mex Restaurant. Ben enjoyed making the people around him smile. He lived his life as a loving and generous person and made an effort to be a positive influence on those around him. In the near term, Ben aspired to be a general manager at Cheddar's Restaurant. His dream had always been to be a pediatrician, and he was revisiting that aspiration as a long-term goal. Ben will be missed by all who knew him, and he will not be forgotten. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, Friday, September 1, 2006, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview at 1617 Judson Road.
