Pevoto, Lorine Lorine Pevoto, faithful servant of God, devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother, passed away on September 2, 2006. Her three daughters were by her side when she entered her heavenly home. Lorine was born August 9, 1924, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Oscar and Sophia White. Lorine grew up in Anahuac, and in 1944, she married Ivan Schley Pevoto. They were married for nearly 62 years, before Ivan passed away in 2005. They lived in San Antonio, for more than 40 years, where they raised their daughters. During that time, Lorine served faithfully as church pianist at Woodlawn Hills Baptist Church for more than 15 years. Lorine continued to share her gift of music throughout her life by playing in nursing homes and in other churches. In 1986, Lorine and Ivan retired to Carthage, and then to Longview in 2000. Lorine was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Paula Harvey and husband, Stan, of Big Foot, Pam Robertson and husband, Loyd, of Longview, and Alice Johnson and her husband, John, of Katy; grandchildren, Amy Hajdu and husband, Scott, Jennifer Porter and husband, Brad, Seth Harvey, Blake Harvey, and Robin Geis; great-grandson, Austen Hajdu; and twin sister, Pauline Lackey. Graveside services for Lorine Pevoto will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating.
