Pannell, William L. Memorial services for William L. Pannell, 73, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel at 1617 Judson Road in Longview. Mr. Pannell died July 24, 2007, at his residence. Born March 15, 1934, in Kilgore, he was a pharmacist for Walgreens. Survivors include his wife, Joye Pannell. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 7/26/2007. ---------------------- Pannell, William Lester William Lester Pannell, born March 15, 1934, and died July 24, 2007, left this world Tuesday afternoon at his home, surrounded by loved ones. His transition was peaceful and painless. Bill, as he was known to everyone, was born in Kilgore, to his father, William Lester Pannell Sr. and his mother, Sallye. He attended the University of Texas and achieved a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy. He began his career at Hall Drug in Kilgore, and left to become a sales representative for Merck. Bill was a sales representative for Merck for 19 years, and then went back to his beloved pharmacy. At the time of his death, he was working for Walgreen's. He dearly loved his chosen profession and was respected by coworkers as well as his customers. His other love was square dancing. He taught square dancing for 22 years. He loved to dance and be with his friends. Bill is survived by his wife, Joye; two sons, Brian of Allen, and Dwain of New Market, Alabama; one stepson, Steve Vilches of Kilgore; two stepdaughters, Nancy Hughes of Houston, and Vikki Pinson of Austin; grandsons, Chad Thompson of Longview, Johnnie Mac and Jordon of Austin; granddaughters, Nikke Christianson of Austin, and Deanna Vaughn of Houston; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. He was greatly loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 27, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Longview.
