Pickett, Samuel Curtis "Curt" KILGORE -- Graveside services for Samuel Curtis "Curt" Pickett, 46, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Pickett passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Pickett was born November 3, 1960, in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Samuel and Laura Pickett. The family moved to Longview, where Curt attended Longview schools. At the age of eight, he learned to play the guitar and loved to play his music with his friends throughout his life. Curt will always be remembered for his sense of humor. He always had a smile and a joke. Making people laugh was one of the joys in his life. The outdoors was another passion that he enjoyed. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The greatest love of his life was his family. Curt was a devoted husband, father and son. Bowman's Pumping Service of Henderson employed Mr. Pickett. His father, Samuel Edward Pickett, preceded him in death. His wife, Sandy Pickett of Longview; a daughter, Renee Pickett of Kilgore; his mother, Laura Beth Pickett of White Oak; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lori and Larry Frazier of Longview, Pam and Billy Suggs of Longview and Kari and Jerry Shurtleff of Las Vegas, Nevada; as well as many other loving family and friends survive him.
