Quinn, Wendell Houston "Ponnie" Funeral services for Wendell Houston "Ponnie" Quinn, 75, of Longview, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport, with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Burial will follow at Summerfield Cemetery, on land donated by his grandfather. Mr. Quinn went to be with the Lord Saturday morning at a local hospital. Mr. Quinn was born October 17, 1931, in Gregg County, Texas, to William H. and Martha Whitehurst Quinn. He was married to Nell Toon Felts Quinn November 27, 1972. He was a kind-hearted, generous and loving Christian man who always went out of his was to help anyone in need. Mr. Quinn was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church and was retired from LeBus Manufacturing, where he had many friends. He was an avid gardener and loved small animals. He left behind his latest love, "Sweet Pea," his apricot toy poodle. Mr. Quinn was preceded in death by his wife, Nell, November 14, 2004; his son, Steve Quinn; his parents, William Quinn and Martha Quinn Gibson; his sister, Betty Rizer; his brothers; Troy and Nuel Quinn; nephew, Terry Rizer; and his niece, Michelle Passafuime Harshbarger. He is survived by his children, David Gilbert Quinn and Kathy Dickerson; his half sister; Diane Harshbarger, nephews and their wives, David and Linda Toon, Michael and Michelle Toon, Roger and Gaile Toon, Carlos and Linda Toon, Richard and Lela Quinn, Larry and Beverly Quinn and Todd and Carla Harshbarger; his nieces and their husbands, JoAnn and Glenn Green, Martha Phillips, Betty and David Hestand, Reba Toon, Judy Toon, Carolyn and Lowell Daughtry, Barbara King, Janice and John Dudley, Nancy and Gary Burgess, Margaret and Bob Landman, Elaine and David White and Tina and Phillip Procell; special friends, Dan and Bobbie Thuma, Rita Amos and her daughter, Kelly; as well as many other family and friends.
