Ray, Patsy KILGORE - On June 13, 2007, an angel escorted our Mother and friend, Patsy Ray, to heaven so she could live forever with love and laughter. Patsy Ray was born August 4, 1935, in Pampa, Texas. She had been a longtime resident of Kilgore. She raised her family with love and dedication. Patsy worked for Emde Johnson Cleaners for many years and Gregg Home for the Aged. She lovingly and unselfishly provided care for her parents for many years as they aged. Mrs. Ray loved spending time with her family and enjoyed conversations with everyone she met and provided plenty of laughter. She had a way of laughing with you but never at you. Patsy always had time to listen and would lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. She expected great things and was always happy with whatever she had. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Dobbins; and brother, Robert Dobbins. She is survived by her two sons, Rickey Ray Sr. of Teague and Rickey Ray Jr. of Kilgore; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Larry Carlisle of Kilgore and Mary and Roger Minor of Kilgore; five grandchildren, Jody Daugherty, Kippie Moore, Jack Moore, Jeremy Minor and Jarod Bryce Ray; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Daugherty, Jody Lee Daugherty Jr., Makenna Daugherty, Nikke Moore, Eric Daugherty, Christopher Davis and Andrew Moore; special friend, Travis Parrish; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heart'sWay Hospice and Jordan Home Health for providing exceptional friendship and care to someone who was so important and special in our lives. A special thank you also to Eula B. Odom, Sue Jackson and Odessa Jackson for your compassion and tenderness while caring for our Mother and friend. Graveside services for Pasty Ray, 71, of Kilgore, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at Pirtle Cemetery, with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. this evening, June 14, 2007, at the funeral home. Please leave online condolences at www.raderfuneralhome.com.
