Rathbun, Michael Louis   	

GALVESTON - Michael Louis Rathbun, born September 5, 1944, passed away suddenly on 
September 28, 2007, after a short illness, in Galveston, Texas.

He was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to Mary and Ira Rathbun. He was a loving husband 
to Diana Movius; and father to Eric Conrad (Amy), Vincent Avon, Stacey Tucker Boatright 
(Kevin) and Bryan Michael Tucker. He was also a doting granddad to Alexandra and 
Adriana Rathbun, and Laurel, Abigail and Wade Boatright. He was a brother to Ira Gray 
(Jean), John Paul (Sally) and predeceased by Richard. He was a brother-in-law to Joan 
Movius Ischinger and Judy Movius MacPherson; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mike was raised in Longview, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University for both his 
undergraduate and graduate degrees. A resident of Houston for 30 years, he was employed 
by Chevron as an earth scientist programmer for 28 years. He resided in Galveston for 
the past three years. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to M.D. Anderson Center, 
Attention Hematology/Oncology Research, 1515 Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030.  

Family and close friends are invited to a celebration of Mike's life on Tuesday, October 
2, at 6 p.m. at the Elk's Lodge, 1518 Tremont Street (23rd Street), Galveston, Texas. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston.
