Schroeder, Jean Memorial services for Jean Schroeder will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006, at Mobberly Baptist Church. Mrs. Schroeder passed away on Friday, October 27, 2006, after a long illness. Jean was born June 6, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Douglas and Dorothy Mackenzie. Upon graduating high school, she became a legal secretary and traveled to Japan, where she met and married her husband, Henry C. Schroeder Jr. Mrs. Schroeder spent most of her life living in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a homemaker and legal secretary. She was a life master bridge player and teacher. She loved to sew, garden, and read, and she was an excellent cabinet maker. She had many pieces of furniture for her friends, family, or by commission. Jean was always one to share her knowledge with others, helping us all to become better people. Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Schroeder Jr.; and her brother, Jack Mackenzie. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jean Baker and her husband, Bill M. Baker; and their two children, Jeremy John Baker and Amy Elizabeth Leonard, and her husband, Randall Leonard. The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the wonderful staff at Heart'sWay Hospice and the caring people who opened their hearts at Mobberly Baptist Church.
