Semar, Roy F. GLADEWATER -- Services for Roy Floyd Semar, 59, of Gladewater, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Born August 3, 1946, in Arkansas Pass, Texas. He died Saturday, April 29, 2006. A 1965 graduate of Pettus High School, he was a 1969 graduate of Texas A&I University in Kingsville. On August 7, 1965, he married Laura Jeanne Barker. He was band director for the Beckville Independent School District, and he had previously served as band director in the Franklin, Harleton, Overton, Union Grove and White Oak school districts. He was a member of the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) and the Texas Music Education Association (TMEA). He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laura Jeanne Semar of Gladewater; three sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Susan Semar and Steve and Christa Semar, all of Gladewater, and Patrick and Elaine Semar of Quincey, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jason Semar, Heather Semar, Sean Semar, Dyllan Semar, Camaran Semar, and Leo Brian Morris; mother, Rosalie Jane Semar of Tuleta, Texas; three brothers, Cary Semar of Dickinson, Clyde Semar of Beeville, and Dale Lee Semar of Trinity; cousin, Mike Bedwell and his wife, Carol, of Gladewater; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Billy Semar. Pallbearers will be Bill McDowell, Scott McDowell, Jason McDowell, Dale Semar, Clyde Semar and Cary Semar.
