Smallwood, Betty Jean 


GLADEWATER -- Services for Betty Jean Smallwood, 68, of Gladewater, will be held 3 
p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Don 
Beebe officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Born June 3, 1937, in 
Palestine, Texas, she died Thursday, March 23, 2006. She was store clerk/owner of 
Circle J. Quick Stop for several years. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Smallwood is 
survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Dicky Bockmon of Avinger; two 
sisters and brother-in-law, Alice Frick of Longview, and Vivian and Earl Phinny of 
Arp; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, 
Albert G. and Imogene Blanton; and her husband, James "Rex" Smallwood. The family 
will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, March 24, 2006, at Croley Funeral 
Home in Gladewater.
