Smith, Cecil Jackson 
  	
A memorial service for Cecil Jackson Smith, 81, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, 
October 15, 2006, at East Texas Funeral Home, with Chaplain Michael White 
officiating. Mr. Smith was born October 10, 1924, in Elderville, Texas, to Jodie J. 
Smith and Emma Walker Smith. He passed away September 27, 2006, at a local care 
facility. Mr. Smith was a longtime resident and served in the U.S. Navy during World 
War II. He was an accomplished commercial fisherman, trapper and a "top notch" 
electrician. Cecil was a devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by a 
son, C.J. Smith Jr. Survivors include his wife, Mildred M. Smith; sons, Chris Smith, 
Tim Smith, Tony Smith, and Jeff Smith; daughters, Caroline Test, all of Longview, 
and Cecilia Patton of Hallsville; sister, Eva Smith Young of Longview; nine 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by East Texas Funeral 
Home of Longview.
