Starkey, Mike 

KILGORE -- Services for Mike Starkey, 47, of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, 
September 23, 2006, at the Forest Home Baptist Church, with the Reverend Earl W. 
"Buddy" Duggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. 
Starkey passed away Monday, September 18, 2006, in Longview. Mr. Starkey was born 
May 6, 1959, in Paris, Texas. He was a member of the Forest Home Baptist Church. 
Mike enjoyed camping and hunting with his family and friends. He loved NASCAR 
racing and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Starkey was a district manager for Energy 
Fishing and Rental Services. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy 
Starkey of Kilgore; daughter, Misty Thrower of Kilgore; son, Jerrod Starkey of 
Kilgore; mother and stepfather, Maggie and Herschel Harris of Yantis; father and 
stepmother, Lester and Ann Starkey of Mount Vernon; sister and brother-in-law, 
Pam and Tommy Gooch of Kilgore; four grandchildren, Kelton Thrower of Kilgore, 
Kaley Thrower of Kilgore, Kaden Thrower of Kilgore, and Layla Starkey of Kilgore; 
stepsister, Vivian McCatty of Washington, Maryland; four stepbrothers, Tom Sumrow 
of Greenville, Tim Sumrow of Greenville, Bobby Harris of Yantis, and Brian Harris 
of Lake Worth; mother-in-law, Dixie and her late husband Pete Fletcher of 
Greenville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other 
loving family and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to the Forest Home 
Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Forest Home Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1340, Kilgore,
