Shore, Eva Rieke KILGORE - Mass of Christian burial for Eva Louise Rieke Shore, 99, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore, with the Reverend Father Michael Adams and the Reverend Father Matias Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore City Cemetery. Mrs. Shore was born December 9, 1907, in Clarendon, Ark., to Henry Rieke and Louise Trainer Rieke. She passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, in Kilgore. She and C.W. Shore were married on August 6, 1929, in LaPorte, Texas. She had been a resident of Kilgore since 1931, moving there from LaPorte in the early "boom" days. Mrs. Shore was a charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore and was very active in the church for more than the past 75 years. She and her husband, C.W., owned and operated Shore Sales Co. during the 1950s and 1960s. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. "Bill" Shore, in 1984. In addition to her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, William Richard Shore and Betty Lee of Kilgore, and Ronald Joseph Shore and Grace of Longview. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jeannie Kuers, Sharanne LaBarge, Sharlotte Smith, Rick Shore, Stephen Shore, Michael Shore and Kenneth Shore; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Rieke of Hazen, Ark., and Bonnie Rieke of Des Arc, Ark.; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful to her caregivers over the past many years, Jewell Matlock and Alexis Brown. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. this evening, April 24, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, by Deacon Dennis Gilchis. Visitation will follow the rosary.
