Sparks Sr., Harry Lee Funeral services for Harry Lee Sparks Sr., 67, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Marion Coon and Tom McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mr. Sparks died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at a local nursing facility. Mr. Sparks was born August 22, 1939, in Sulphur Springs, to Harry Cleveland and Georgia "Ebbie" Pierce Sparks. He was a self-made man and owned and operated his own wrecker and garage business. Mr. Sparks attended East Mountain schools. He was a polio and cancer survivor. Mr. Sparks enjoyed motorcycle riding and loved his family. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Niki; and the mothers of his children, Lillian and Katie. Mr. Sparks is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Lee Jr. and Tonga Sparks of Hallsville, Johnny and Donna Sparks of Farmers Branch and Stephen and Alyce Sparks of Hallsville; and daughter and son- in-law, Kathy and Michael Richardson of Hallsville. His grandchildren are Sarah, Kayan and Zayan Sparks; Johnny Jr. and Jesse Sparks; Kate and Emily Sparks; Mallory, Madison and Katie Richardson; and Shane Patterson. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. this evening, June 5, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road.
