Stidham, Lorene Hooks Funeral services for Lorene Hooks Stidham, 96, of Longview, will be 3 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007, in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Dr. Jim Lewis, the Rev. Dewayne Beaty, and special friend, Wayne Perry, officiating. The committal ceremony will be held in the Welch Garden Court. Burial will be in Elderville Cemetery. Mrs. Stidham was born February 7, 1910, in Emerson, Arkansas, to John Duff and Lila Mae Hammock Hooks. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Murray Stidham; son, Mac Stidham; daughter, Mary Fry; and grandson, Dr. Brian Stidham. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sue Stidham of White Oak; daughter-in-law, Joyce Stidham of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Kit and Dottie Hooks of Gibsland, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law; grandchildren, Micheal Stidham, Pat Stidham, Tim Stidham, David Fry, Chris Fry, Andrea Depwe, and special granddaughter, Terry Sue Gage; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Margaret and Debra.
