Small, Claude E. KILGORE - Services for Claude Small, 77, of Kilgore, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Riley Pippen, the Reverend Vaun Henry and James "Butch" Small officiating. Military honors will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mr. Small died Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at a medical center in Longview. He was born January 8, 1930, in Pampa, to Henry and Dora Small. Mr. Small attended public school in Pampa and Borger. He served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps between 1948-1951. Mr. Small enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952, where he was a flight engineer. In 1969, he retired as a technical sergeant. Mr. Small was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans, Kilgore Chapter No. 21 and Highland Park Baptist Church. Mr. Small was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Michael Small; and two brothers, James and George Small. Mr. Small is survived by his wife, Mary Small of Kilgore; five sons, James "Butch" Small and his wife, Diane of Houma, Louisiana, Henry "Gene" Small and his wife, Marilyn of Lindale, Curtis Small and his wife, Mary of Kilgore, Joe Small of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tim Small and his wife, Dana of Kilgore; one daughter, Melba Hampton and her husband, Lee of Kilgore; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one-great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Kilgore Chapter No. 21, 505 Higginbotham, Kilgore, TX 75662.
