Tarver, David KILGORE -- Funeral services for David Tarver, 70, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Highland Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mr. Tarver passed away Monday, April 3, 2006, in Longview. He was born August 18, 1935, in Smackover, Arkansas. Mr. Tarver was the founder, owner, and operator of Tarver's Garage. He was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Tarver was on the Kilgore College Automotive Advisory Council. He served as a director of Texas Independent Automotive Association, "TIAA" for 10 years. Mr. Tarver is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Tarver of Kilgore; four children, David Glen and Nancy Tarver of Harleton, Kenneth and Kathy Tarver of Kilgore, Mark and Kay Tarver of Kilgore, and Rita and Bill Brantley Jr. of Kilgore; six grandchildren, Nathan and Stephen Tarver of Harleton, Sarah and Jacob Tarver, and Amanda and Bryan Brantley, all of Kilgore; sister, Jane Nethery of El Dorado, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeter and Emodell Murphy Tarver; and a brother, John Tarver. The family will receive friends at 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 4, 2006, Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
