Thornhill, Marvin E. 

GLADEWATER -- Services for Marvin E. Thornhill, 94, of Gladewater, will 
be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, 
with the Reverend Ellis Hayden and the Reverend Aubrey Pate officiating. 
Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Born May 19, 1911, in Hall Summitt, 
Louisiana, he died Thursday, February 9, 2006. A 1931 graduate of Hall 
Summitt High School, he attended business college in Shreveport, Louisiana. 
On August 29, 1932, he married Shirley McDowell, and she survives him. He 
was a retired pumper/switcher, having worked for Texaco for 43 years, until 
his retirement in 1976. In addition to his wife of 73 years, he is also 
survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Tim Trammell of Ovilla, 
Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Stephen and Stephany Trammell, 
Craig and Lisa Trammell, and Rebecca Trammell; five great-grandchildren, 
Ryan Trammell, Brad Trammell, Scott Trammell, Trent Trammell, and Brent 
Trammell; and several nieces. Pallbearers will be J.O. Williams, Billy 
Callaway, Roy Johnson, Paul King, Ryan Trammell, and Brad Trammell. 
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church. The 
family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. this evening, February 10, 2006, 
at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
