Tompkins, Robert E. "Bob" A celebration of the life of Robert E. "Bob" Tompkins, 74, of Longview, will be held Thursday, August 31, 2006, at Rosewood Park Cemetery Mausoleum, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with Mr. James David Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Bob was born December 25, 1931, in Pelly, to Elmer and Ida Reath Tompkins. He had lived in the Longview community since 1934. Bob married his wife, Ellen Cobb Tompkins, on May 24, 1952, in Longview. He was a member of the Church of Christ, had retired from Texas Eastman after 39 years of service as a production planner, and had served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-1955. Mr. Tompkins was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Otis Tompkins and Lester Tompkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen of Longview; daughters, Donna Lynne Keller and Karen Elaine Palmer; son, Robert Curtis Tompkins; six grandchildren, Bryan Cox, Benjamin Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Elizabeth Faulkner, Matthew Tompkins, and Amanda Tompkins; and two great-grand- children, Drew Johnson and Cade Johnson. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Heart'sWay Hospice of Northeast Texas, Rehab at Home, and Dr. Larry Frase and the staff at the Cancer Center.
