Torrence, James Charles Funeral services for James Charles Torrence, 38, of Longview, will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2006, at Hallsville Cemetery, with the Reverend Buddy Duggins officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. James was born October 29, 1967, in Irving, grew up in Hallsville, and lived the rest of his life in Longview. He died Monday evening, May 29, 2006, at his residence. He was a pipe line operator and mechanic for the last 10 years for East Texas Salt Water Disposal in Kilgore. James graduated from Hallsville High School in 1986, and he attended Kilgore College, Stephen F. Austin University, and TSTC in Marshall. James loved spending time with his family, and he enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and attending the NHRA Drag Races with friends and family. James was baptized at Harmony Baptist Church in Hallsville. His dad, James Otis Torrence preceded him in death in 2003. James is survived by his dog, "Sugar;" special friend, Wendi; mother and step-dad, Charlene Henigan and Greg Franks of Marshall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Kay Torrence of Kilgore, Jim Torrence Jr. of Nacogdoches, and Matt and Carey Torrence of Fayetteville, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Renada and Robert Patterson of Houston; niece, Jordan Patterson; and nephews, Jason Patterson and Stephen Torrence. The family will receive friends from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday evening, June 1, 2006, at the funeral home chapel, 1617 Judson Road. A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
