Triplett, Wanda Wanda Triplett, 73, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Longview Regional Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1933, in Delta County, Texas. Wanda was a legal secretary for 30 years. She retired June 1, 1996, to travel. She was very involved in the Texas Legal Secretary Association and held an honors position as an officer in both state and local chapters. Wanda moved to Longview in 1997, after the death of her husband, Benny Triplett. She was an officer of Ladies Auxiliary at the Elks Lodge in Longview. Her joy in life was traveling, staying active, canoeing, and the outdoors. Wanda was in two bowling leagues, and she loved to go on cruises. She was a friend to all. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Byrd Triplett; son, Harold Ray Triplett; and sister, Bonnie Mentzel. She is survived by her son, Rick Triplett and wife, Donna of Austin; a daughter, Teresa Childress of Tyler; three grandchildren, Brandi and Todd Triplett, and Alicia Childress; and one great-grandson, Kaden Webb. She is also survived by her special friend, Tommy Bennett; and many other family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the Elks Lodge. Memorial donations may be made for the family at the American Heart Association or to the Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund in Longview, Texas. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 12/2/2006.
