Tucker, Christine Lee 


Funeral services for Christine Lee Tucker, 101, of Longview, are scheduled for 10 
a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, 
with the Rev. Sam Goude and the Rev. Dale Rich officiating. Mrs. Tucker passed 
away on Monday, May 25, 2006, at a local nursing facility. Mrs. Tucker was born 
October 29, 1904, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Jack W. and Maud May Wheeler Gensen. She 
came to East Texas in a covered wagon when she was 16 years old. She was a member 
of the Assembly of God Church. Preceding Mrs. Tucker in death was her husband, the 
Rev. C.W. Tucker; daughter, Jerry Smith; two grandsons, Anthony Tucker and David 
Barnes; and one great-grandson, Justin Polk. Survivors include her daughters and 
sons-in-law, Alice and L.T. Phillips, and Ellen and Clarence Barnes; son and 
daughter-in-law, Ray and Geneva Tucker, all of Longview; son-in-law, Joe C. Smith 
of Lake O' the Pines; 10 grandchildren, Franklin Barnes, Sandra Gibbs, Joseph Smith, 
Travis Phillips, Jerry Don Smith, Mike Smith, John William Smith, Carolyn Clay, Tim 
Phillips, and Renea Click; 29 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren. 
The family extends their thanks to Dr. Dan Jones, the staff at Good Shepherd Medical 
Center, Highland Pines Nursing Home, and Southern Care Hospice for their care of Mrs. 
Tucker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening, May 25, 2006, 
at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to White Oak Church of God, 1201 N. White 
Oak Rd., White Oak, TX 75693; Southern Care Hospice, 911 W. Loop 281, Suite 101, 
Longview, TX 75604; or charity of choice.
