Tucker, E.L. E.L. Tucker, 86, a resident of Longview since 1937, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006, at a hospital in Longview. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2006, at Memory Park Mausoleum, with Chaplain David Reeder officiating. Mr. Tucker was a graduate of Pine Tree High School and Baylor University. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant during World War II, and retired from Ammco Oil Co. He is survived by one sister, Louise Tucker Traweek of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews. God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine." He then took you to heaven with hands gentle and so kind. It broke our hearts to lose you, and you did not go alone. For parts of us went with you the day God called you home. Your beloved sister with all my love, Louise Tucker Traweek Published in the Longview News-Journal on 8/30/2006.
