Taylor, Lara Mae Services for Lara Mae Taylor, 81, formerly of Longview, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery of Oakhill on F.M. 782. Mrs. Taylor passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007, in Arlington. Mrs. Taylor was born June 21, 1926, to Chester and Laura Williamson Wilson. She was a companion to her husband, Tom, in his 23 years of military service. They were the owners of Hilltop Nursery in Elderville. She was a member of Trinity First Baptist Church of Lakeport. She volunteered at Good Shepherd Medical Center and taught arts and crafts. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor worked for the Corp of Engineers from Alaska to South Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alexander; son, Ronald; and nephew, Melvin Freeman. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Warren and Jane Taylor of Arlington, and Thomas DeWayne and Dianna Taylor of Friendswood; brother and sister- in-law, Roy and Margie Wilson of Kerrville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Taylor, Shelly Heinrich and husband, Zach; niece, Margie Pace and husband, Lonnie; nephew, Charlie Freeman; nephew, John David Wilson and wife, Patti; niece, Sharon Mansell and husband, Doug; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Taylor's name to the Gideons or a charity of your choice.
