Tenery, Eugene GLADEWATER - Memorial services for Eugene Tenery, 84, of Gladewater, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. A private burial will be held. Born August 27, 1922, in Gladewater, he died March 25, 2007, in Tyler. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Gulf Oil and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Gene was in the Cadet Corps at Texas A&M University, and then after Pearl Harbor, he felt it was his duty to volunteer in the United States Army during World War II. Gene was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in North Africa and Europe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Tenery. He is survived by his sons, John R. Tenery and wife, Olga of Mission Viejo, California, and Andy Tenery and wife, Jan of Austin; his daughter, Sandra E. McCollough and husband, Vann of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kelly Johnston, Amber Orduna, Laura Morton, Jessica Sinn and Scott Tenery; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Mason of Scottsdale, Arizona; and an aunt, Theo Doerge of Bryan. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 27, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home, 401 N. Center, Gladewater, TX.
