Thornton, Carol Jean On May 31, 2007, our light on the Earth dimmed, but became very bright in Heaven as God reached down and took the hand of our precious Jeannie and escorted her home. We ask you to celebrate in the homegoing of our loved one whom God sent to Earth January 20, 1953, and received back in His presence. Memorial services will be Monday, June 4, 2007, at 2 p.m., at Little Flock Baptist Church, 14206 FM 968 W., Longview, TX 75602. Under the direction of East Texas Funeral Home, Pastor Leon Veaze and her nephew, Judge Rusty Ladd, will officiate, along with her uncle, E.C. "Joey" Sherman. Her brother, Michael Tinsley, and her daughter, Audrey Stuart, will assist. Veronica Palmer and Joey Sherman will perform music. Jeannie Thornton was born January 20, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Harold and Betty Tinsley. The family moved to Longview in 1953. She attended school in Hallsville and at GSMC LVN Nursing School, then moved to Pasadena, Texas, until returning to Longview in 1984, where she lived until her death. She married William M. Thornton on April 13, 1990. They worked and raised their daughters and saw them all happily married. She loved life, gardening, animals, flowers, and above all, God and her family. She worked at several clinics in her field of nursing, but for the past seven years, she was the nurse for Dr. Kenneth Skipper at the GSMC Gladewater Clinic.
