Threadgill, Edelle Norris Funeral services for Edelle Norris Threadgill, of Longview, who passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Ed Blackstone officiating. Burial will follow in Rusk County Memorial Gardens of Henderson. Edelle was born November 9, 1925, into the loving family of James and Patrice Threadgill which included six brothers, Carol, Tom Delmar, Jackson, Luther, Travis, and three sisters, Carrie, Martha and Ann. He is survived by Travis of Concord, Carrie Patrick of Mt. Enterprise and Ann Webb of Henderson, Texas. Edelle passed away on the 59th wedding anniversary of his marriage to Margrette Owens Threadgill. He is also survived by their two children, Ronald Threadgill and wife, Laura of Liberty City and Kay Robey and husband, Charles "Bubba" Robey of Longview; and six grandchildren, Kristen and Jerry McGuire, Courtney, Erin and Scott Hines, Chad and Vicky Robey, Blake and Pat Robey. He was also blessed with one great-great-grandchild, Taylor McGuire. Edelle attended Kilgore Junior College, where he played basketball for the Rangers and attended North Texas University. He enjoyed working for two companies during his career, American Supply of Kilgore and International Supply of Longview. He was an active member of the Laird Hill United Methodist Church after his marriage to his wife, Margrette. He taught there for many years. Most recently, his church home was Trinity United Methodist Church of Longview. He was a kind, loving husband, father and friend. He will always have a special place in their hearts of all who knew him, especially his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, June 21, 2007, at the funeral home.
