Turner, Eva Lee Memorial services for Eva Lee Turner, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel at 4619 Judson Road, with the Rev. Scott Schulik officiating. Interment will be in New Prospect Cemetery of Henderson. Ms. Turner died August 2, 2007, in Shreveport, La. Born July 30, 1925, in Bexar, Ark., she worked in the dry cleaning business and was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Jean Phillips. She was born on July 30, 1925, in Bexar, Arkansas, to William and Ida Belle Turner. She had lived in Longview for almost 70 years before moving to Shreveport in January 2007. She worked in the dry cleaning business for more than 50 years, most of that time spent working with and for her dear friends, the Hunter family, at Peerless Laundry in Longview. For many years, she was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church in Longview. She is survived by her sister, Jean Phillips, of Mineola and by three generations of nieces and nephews, all of whom she treated and loved as if they were her own children. She exhibited her Christian faith in all areas of her life and especially as she cared for various family members in time of sickness and need. In addition to her family, she cherished all of the friends and work associates that she came to know through the years, especially those at Eden Place Apartments, where she had lived for the last four years prior to moving to Shreveport. Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Rev. Scott Schulik. Interment will be in New Prospect Cemetery in Henderson.
