Taylor, Shirley Mae GLADEWATER - Services for Shirley Mae Taylor, 66, of Longview, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Sabine Valley Baptist Church, with the Reverend James E. Whittaker officiating. Mrs. Taylor went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2007, at Prairie Estates Assisted Living Center in Frisco, after suffering from a heart attack. Shirley, affectionately known as "Honey," was born July 19, 1941, in the Camp Switch Community of Longview, to Willie D. Norman and Mabel Sherman, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Taylor attended Weldon schools in Gladewater and worked for a few years at American General Insurance Co. Shirley was actively involved in Sabine Valley Baptist Church, where she served as finance committee chair, president of the Community Choir, choir treasurer and church secretary. "Honey" was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar George Taylor; her sister, Jewel Dean Lemons; her brother-in-law, W.C. Lemons; her brother, Bobby Norman; and her grandmother, Pearl Sherman. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mabel Moore; her brother, Donnie Norman and his wife, Francis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
