Waggoner, Gertrude Graveside services for Gertrude Waggoner, a longtime resident of Longview, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006, in Clifton Cemetery of Clifton. Coby Allen, husband of granddaughter Sally, will officiate. Rader Funeral Home in Longview is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Waggoner died Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Summer Meadows Nursing Home in Longview, where she had been a resident for the past 13 years. She was 92 at the time of her death. Mrs. Waggoner was born December 23, 1914, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She married William "Toby" Waggoner on July 4, 1938. She was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, where she had been a women's Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Waggoner taught first grade in the public schools for 31 years, mostly in the panhandle of Texas and central Texas. Mrs. Waggoner was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; her beloved daughter, Beth Ann Grace, in 2003; and seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Waggoner is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William "Duke" and Nancy Waggoner of Palestine; son-in-law, Bob Grace of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Hardin of Mount Pleasant; brother, Lowell Hoggins of Cleburne; six grandchildren, Phil and Angie Grace of Hallsville, Debbie and Kyle Jones of Emory, Bill and Kristan Waggoner of Austin, Gaby and Jim Yates of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Sally and Coby Allen of Frisco, and Jake Edwards of Dallas, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
