Walker, Rex D. Rex D. Walker, 79, of Longview, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Sweetwater on September 20, 1926, to William and Clara Belle Walker. Rex attended the Little Flock Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later attended LeTourneau College. Rex retired from the United States Postal Service following many years of dedicated service, and he enjoyed fishing and camping. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Lillian Walker; sons, Mike Walker and wife, Laedelle, of Hallsville, and Jerry Walker and wife, Trina, of Longview; brothers, Buddy and Randal Walker; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Rex will also be missed by his church family at Little Flock and other friends and neighbors. His parents and his sister, Jane Seago, preceded him in death. There will be no formal visitation but friends may sign the register at Lakeview Funeral Home from noon-5 p.m. today, June 26, 2006. Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
