Warwick, George L. Services for George L. Warwick, 81, of Longview, will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Ford Chapel of the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dewayne Beaty and the Rev. Brad Reedy officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Rosewood Park, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Warwick died Wednesday morning, March 15, 2006, in Longview. He was born June 18, 1924, in Mt. Ranier, Maryland, to James L. and Ottie Cumberland Warwick. He was reared in Washington, D.C., which he considered to be his hometown. Mr. Warwick was a graduate of Baylor University, where he received a bachelor of arts degree. He served with the 2nd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed in sales at Swift Packing and the W.W. Granger Company. Mr. Warwick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longview. He is survived by his wife, Bobbye of Longview; his sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Nancy Warwick of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Michael and Helen Warwick of Marshall; and his grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, and Ryan Warwick. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Friday afternoon, March 17, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the General Scholarship Fund at Baylor University.
