West, Clara Campbell KILGORE -- Services for Clara Campbell West, 87, of Kilgore, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Kilgore, with Chris Vidacovich officiating. Burial will follow in Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. West passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Kilgore. Clara was born April 1, 1918, in Nacogdoches County, to the late William A. and Missie Katie Reeves. She was the youngest of 10 children, in a loving and close-knit family. A graduate of Gilmer High School, she lived most of her life in Nacogdoches and Kilgore. Mrs. West was a faithful and beloved member of the Chandler Street Church of Christ. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. Clara wanted to be a good example for her family and was always available and willing to help others. Her interests in life were God, her family, quilting, gardening, and developing friendships with people of all ages. Mrs. West is survived by a son, and two daughters, six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren from her first marriage of 32 years to Clarence Campbell. They include a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll W. and Terry Campbell of Kingwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Jim De Bruin of Montgomery, and Kathy and Carl Meadows of Longview; grandchildren, Jeff De Bruin and wife, Cheryl, of Frisco, Chris Campbell and wife, Kathy, of Rogers, Ark., Kristi Brown and husband, Alan, of White Oak, Allison Campbell, Stacie Phillips and husband, Steve, and Scott De Bruin and wife, Angela, all of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Hillary and Austin De Bruin, Benjamin and Jack Phillips, Chapman and Chaney Campbell, Maggie and Mackenzie Brown, and Grant and Paige De Bruin. Following Mr. Campbell's death in 1969, she married Lewis West in 1974. They were married 12 years until his death in 1986. She is also survived by Lewis West's son, William Perkins; Mr. West's grandchildren, La Nae Cope, Kyle Perkins and wife, Linda, Scott Durbin, and Brooke Durbin; and great-grandchildren, Laura and Travis Perkins, La Rae Fallis, Danielle Fallis, La Shae Cope, Courtney Durbin, and Jonathan Durbin. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and many, many friends who were so special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, W. C. Campbell and Lewis West; a grandson, Kevin Meadows; Judy West Fox; five brothers; and four sisters.
