DALLAS -- On Sunday morning, January 7, 2007, around 10 a.m. 
at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, the Angel of 
Silence came into the hospital with chilly fingers and sealed 
her lips. She worked for Longview Independent School District 
for more than 30 years and later retired, at the same time, 
pursuing her dream to cater and decorate cakes for various 
events, which later earned her the name, "The Cake Lady." She 
leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Evelyn Rose of 
Dallas; and one son, Darnell Brice Sr. of Longview. Celebration 
services will be noon Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Bethel 
Baptist Church at 323 South Court Street. Visitation will be 
Wednesday evening, January 10, 2007, at Stanmore Funeral Home 
at 1105 South Martin Luther King Boulevard.
