Wylie, Jim Bob "J.B." KILGORE -- Memorial services for Jim Bob "J.B." Wylie, 78, of Kilgore, will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Charlotte Austin officiating. Mr. Wylie died Monday, June 26, 2006, in Longview. Mr. Wylie was born March 11, 1928, in Chapman, to James Robert and Sarah Allie Bearden Wylie, who preceded him in death. He grew up on a ranch where he developed a passion for being outdoors. Mr. Wylie attended Chapman and Henderson schools and Kilgore College. Mr. Wylie loved sports and played for a semi-pro baseball team. Mr. Wylie enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore. Mr. Wylie worked for Citizens Bank in Henderson and later for National Supply Co., a division of Armco Steel, as a store manager. He retired as senior sales representative after many years of services. Mr. Wylie served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Anna Belle "Bobbie" Wylie of Kilgore; two daughters, Lisa Wylie of Longview, and Lori Wylie of Hollywood, Florida; one aunt, Eva Griffith of Irving; brother-in-law, Wallace P. Davis of Lufkin; numerous cousins; other loving family; and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
