Walker, Alberta M. Alberta M. Walker, 80, of Longview, passed away June 1, 2007, in Longview. She was born July 15, 1926, in Wharton, Texas, to Albert and Jeanette Henneke Brandes. She was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Truesdell and her husband, John, of Georgetown; son, David Walker and his wife, Joan, of Longview; daughter, Alicia Bishop and her husband, Larry, of Gilmer; one sister, Auralia Hobbins of Pledger, Texas; two grandchildren, Linsey Bishop of Houston and Logan Bishop of Gilmer; and two special caregivers, Conebra Darden and Sharon Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ernest Walker, in 2006. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at Greggton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Emmitt Barrow and the Rev. Wayne McKay officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Laneville Cemetery in Laneville, Texas, with the Rev. Michael W. Darden officiating. Memorials may be made to the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, 3117 W. Marshall Ave., Longview, TX 75604; Foundation Hope, 120 E. South Town Dr., Suite 200, Tyler, TX 75703; or the East Texas Literacy Council, 320 E. Methvin St., Longview, TX 75601.
