Walker, Mildred Nell Hughes Pricer Mildred Nell Hughes Pricer Walker, 88, was called home by her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 26, 2006. Mildred was born in Purdon, Texas, September 8, 1918, moved to Kilgore in 1945, then later to Longview in 1958. She was an LVN and did private-duty nursing for more than 30 years in and around the Longview area. She was LVN Association Division 13 "Nurse of the Year" in 1975, and Texas LVN Nursing Association "Nurse of the Year" in 1980. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Longview. Rejoicing in her homecoming are her son, Henry Leon "Buddy" Pricer of Longview; husband, John M. Walker of Kilgore/Longview; husband, Jessie Lee Pricer of Hubbard; stepson, Johnny M. Walker of Kilgore; parents W.D. and Martha E. Hughes of Corsicana; brothers, Anguish McAlister Hughes of Purdon, John Will Hughes of Lorena, and Tommie Hughes of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Eunice Foster of Dawson, Aileen Freeland of Hubbard, Annie May Jones of Longview, Mary Lou McPherson of Dallas, and Lora Ford of Waco. Grieving her loss but celebrating her life are her son, Mike Walker of Dallas; daughters, Joanne Pricer Edwards of Longview, and Patsy Walker Vanderpool of Houston; brother, A.L. Hughes of Waco; and sisters, Elva Gladney of Oxnard, Calif., Jo Ann Rodgers of Baytown, and Loma Gladney of Waco; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Pricer of Longview, Judy Walker of Garland, and Jeannie Walker of Kilgore; grandchildren, Dawn Zagurski of Plano, Donna Bonham of Hallsville, Jonathan Andron of Rowlette, Ashley Walker of Garland, Johnny M. Walker Jr. of Henderson, Vicki Clayton of Kilgore, and Jana Gae Lawrence of Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Katy and Sarah Zagurski of Plano, Haley Edwards of Hallsville, Alyxandra Andron of Des Moines, Iowa, Easton Andron and Jennifer Morin of Rowlette; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the special angels at Greater Hospice of Texas, Clairmont Nursing Home and Alpine House Assisted Living Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial will be in Danville Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today, October 29, 2006.
