Welborn, Vesta Lee  
 	
Services for Vesta Lee Welborn, 83, of Longview, are 
scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007, 
at Spring Hill First Baptist Church, with the Rev. 
Wayne Spanhanks officiating. Burial will follow in 
Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Welborn passed away 
on Thursday, February 8, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. 
Welborn was born April 4, 1923, in Abilene, Texas, to 
Thomas U. and Bessie Lee Randolph Oliver. She attended 
and graduated from Gladewater High School. She retired 
after a 27-year career as the first tax 
assessor-collector at Spring Hill I.S.D. She was a 
member of Spring Hill First Baptist Church and was very 
involved in the Gladewater Alumni Association and the 
Exxon Retirees group. Survivors include her children, 
Sandra, and spouse, David Wooten, Carol Martindale, 
Regan Welborn and Cynthia Grimmett; sister, Patricia 
Faye Garrett; grandchildren, Tracy and Jerry Hays, Dana 
and Marty Bowen, Russell and Irina Don Carlos, Tammy and 
Aubrey Parker, Jamie and Chris Graham, Kelly and Sherman 
Beebe, Debbie and Mike Reed, Austin Welborn, Preston 
Welborn and Hunter Welborn; 11 great grandchildren; and 
nine nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be 
made to Spring Hill Alumni Teacherage, 5100 Mahaffey Ln., 
Longview, TX 75605; or Spring Hill First Baptist Church 
Building Fund, 4000 Gilmer Rd., Longview, TX 75604. The 
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening,
