City Fireman L.J. WALDROP died suddenly of a heart attack at 1 AM  on Friday. He was 41.

Mr. Waldrop was stricken in his quarters at the Idylwood fire station where he and his 
wife made their home. He has been in charge of the station the last few years.

Mr. Waldrop was born in Cove, Arkansas on July 31, 1899. He had lived in Longview for 
about 30 years.

Besides his wife he is survived by his mother Mrs. Louise Waldrop of Longview, and his 
father F.E. Waldrop of Coffeeville, Miss.
