Whittle, John Richard   	

GLADEWATER - Graveside services for John Richard Whittle, 90, of Gladewater, will be 
held at 1 p.m. today, September 13, 2007, at Friendship Cemetery, with Larry W. Osborne 
officiating.

Born November 25, 1916, in Mineral Wells, he died Tuesday, September 11, 2007.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Gregg County. Mr. Whittle was a veteran 
of the United States Army, having served during World War II as a medic. He was a life 
member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Whittle of Gladewater; daughter and son-in-law, 
Joyce and Denny Hill of Mansfield; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Dottie Whittle of 
Longview; six grandchildren and spouses, Mark and April Whittle, Matthew and Brandi 
Whittle, Layne and Misty Hill, Chad and Sharla Hill, Melanie and Shawn Putman, and 
Christy and Dave Gaskin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

No visitation is scheduled.
